The right resources for the right people
My Core Principles as VP University Affairs
My Message: Graduate school is hard enough, you shouldn’t also have to decode the university to get help. As VP University Affairs, I will show up in the rooms where university decisions are made (Senate, committees, consultations) and make sure graduate student reality shapes policy, not the other way around
The Bridge
How Change Happens: Every month, I’ll host Graduate Conversations, real talks about one real issue, with the right university person in the room to respond. Then I’ll publish clear follow-ups so you can see what changed, what’s in progress, and what still needs pressure.
How I Inspire Action: I’ll spotlight short “Resource Stories”: grad students sharing what they used (career support, wellness, funding help) and how it actually helped them. Not for likes, for proof, so more students feel confident asking for support and taking the next step.
My Strategies
Create a simple Graduate Resource Map that answers real questions like “I need a job after graduation, where do I start?”
Goal 1: No more “I didn’t know that existed.”
Find Your Resource
Resource Stories
Goal 2: Build trust by showing proof that support can work.
Share short Resource Story Spotlights on GSS platforms, real grad students sharing what support they used (funding help, counseling, career services, accessibility, supervision support) and what changed.
